This is the second game in the Dark Forces series of games and keeps many of the ideas from the original game, and improves radically upon them. Read on to find out more:

This game features a whole load of new features. The most obvious and impressive of these is the brand new graphics engine offering total freedom of movement. With a 3D card you can run the game upto 1024*768 in 16bit. This creates a very impressive and believable game environment.
The game now also features filmed cut-scenes (unlike hand drawn in DF1) this makes the characters more believable. The cut-scenes are done well and do not get in the way of the game. You also get different scenes if you choose light or dark side, but more on that later. An addition many will appreciate is the lightsabre, a formidable weapon. Also a 3rd Person persepective has been added to make this weapon usable.

As the levels progress you move toward the light or dark side. This depends mainly on how many inocents you feel the need to kill. Kill too many and your path will be set irevoracably to the dark side. Personally I chose the dark side the first time I played through, but then I played through on the light side and found it more enjoyable (the story is told better in the cut-scenes), and I found the different in the force powers to be marginal.
Ah, those force powers. Another new addition to this game. There are 4 basic powers (Jump, Speed etc..) and the light and dark sides have 4 each and I'll leave you to discover these yourself.

One problem I found with the game is that sometime with the use of 'Force Jump' I found myself leaping to ledges which were supossed to be inacessible. This ment that some time the game would fail to tell you that you have finished your objectives and get a bit confused. This is the only gripe I have with this game and it's not a big one at that.
This game also brings multi-player ability to Dark Forces. The game can be played over the Internet, LAN, or Serial Cable. I have't had a chance to try this so if anybody out there has please tell me what it's like so I can pass the info onto everybody else.

To play Jedi Knight you're going to need at least a P90, but really you need a P133 with a Direct 3D (Ver 5) Compatible graphics card to get the most out of it. Of course any faster computer will be lapped up by the game. The game should run in 16Mb but really needs 32Mb and the are rumers that 64Mb is needed when playing with some graphics cards for maximum performance.

Jedi Knight now costs just £25 pounds which also includes the Myteries of the Sith addon. This is superb vaule and you can't go wrong. Check out the demo to check compatiblity and performance with your computer before you rush down to the shops.
