This is the fourth game in the Rebel Assault series of games and is also available on the N64.

This is by far the best game in the Rebel Assault series, it takes its cue from the Battle Of Hoth level in Shadows of the Empire. In Rogue Squadron you take control on one of several rebel ships, X-Wing, Y-Wing, A-Wing, land speeder and the new V-Wing. The ships all have primary and secondary weapons, with secondary weapons ranging from torpedos to bombs to a tow cable. The land speeder wraps the tow cable around the legs of a AT-AT pulling it over. Weapons can be improved by collecting power-ups during the missions.

The game follows a linear mission structure with a developing story line. The learning curve works quite well with the beginning levels being very simple and the later being quite challenging. Medals are awarded ranging from Bronze to Gold depending on your performance in each mission. If you finish every mission with a set of medals you receive access to bonus levels. This medal system pushes you to finish each mission in a shorter time or with more accuracy or improve in a number of other factors.

The graphics in Rogue Squadron are fluid and look good, as they should as they require a 3D accelerator. However the display distance seems very short and the scenery soon disappears into fog, this is perhaps caused by this game also being available on N64.
Rogue Squadron unfortunately features no multi player support which is a shame.
In conclusion Rogue Squadron is a fast paced arcade game and it's very good fun. I'd recommend it to anybody with a suitable computer.
